Moodmixer: Can technology act social?

Our world is becoming more and more digital and the amount of content and products presented to us are growing to a confusing amount. it seems to be very difficult to find and get want you want wihtout effort. This is why we wanted to invent a machine whom you could tell your preferences and that would select content matching these. Here not only your individual taste was to be imnportant but also the economical requirements of your content’s provider. Only in an enviroment that balances both, economical flow can be profitable for all of us.

If offerings are supposed to become more and more personalized, editors will not be able to serve every single one in the future. An intelligent automation will be needed.

To do this one has to face the problems of existing automation: In most catalogs, no matter if online shop, music library or any other content archive, a large portion of the content lies unused. Whatever isn’t searched for won’t be seen, let alone sold.

Existing recommender systems on the other hand very often only feature mass taste but no niche products. We think all products should get the chance of visibility at least once! This is what we are trying.

In the internet world, funnily enough, “time” as our 4th dimension isn’t looked at properly. If time passes, we might come again to visit a store, have the same or different requests, are in the same or a different mood. So if time passes, we need to look for variation, prevent repetition or control repetition in a way that serves our preferences. Only systems that take into account what has already been delivered will prevail in time.

And last but not least: of course intellectual property is a topic: we want artists, writeres, photographers and any other producer of content to be paid according to the use of their content. At least in music this is not happening. Moodmixer technology wants to offer functionality to do proper accounting and to make sure that everyone gets what they deserve.

It has taken us quite a few years to invent such a technology but now it’s there:

We have many different customers: hotels, bars and restaurants as well as retailers for background music and instore radio, radio stations online and terrestrial and of course online shops andinternet portals that have to deal with lots of content every day. it is their and their customers requirements that trigger our developments.

Apart from that we strive to deliver utmost product and service quality. We only have fun working if we can make our clients happy.

In our small but constantly growing company we will try to als take the same aspects into account that drive our software.
